The committee has scheduled a business meeting for next week. Schiff would not say whether enforcement action meant he would move to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt, adding that he would confer with the House counsel to decide his next steps ahead of the meeting.
Schiff also said the committee will vote on Monday at a separate business meeting to release the transcripts and exhibits from former personal lawyer to President Donald Trump Michael Cohen’s closed-door interviews earlier this year.
Schiff said he sent the Justice Department a list of a dozen narrow sets of counterintelligence and foreign intelligence documents, which he said were referenced in the Mueller report and would not be covered by executive privilege.
The Justice Department did not provide any documents ahead of the deadline, adding the department was “largely non-responsive.”
